FAQs

What's so unique about Mexxfro Adventure Tours?

It is important to us that every participant has an amazing tour experience- despite differing experience and fitness levels within the group. That is why we have chosen one of the best e-mountain bikes for our tours, the “Spitzing” M1. This powerful, secure s-pedelec, with 5 different gears, guarantees that less experienced riders won’t be over-strained and those with more experience will still get a kick out of it.

Aren’t e-bikes for the elderly and couch potatoes?

This is a question only asked by those who have not yet ridden an e-bike. There’s only one answer for that: try it out. Give it a shot and test ride an e-bike. We’re sure you’ll think differently about e-bikes afterwards! We’ve a more detailed report in our blog, or simply click here.

E-mountain bikes are only for sports fanatics!

Not at all. We specifically chose the M1 “Spitzing”, one of the best and most expensive e-bikes available, to cater for as many fitness and performance levels as possible. After a short introduction, everyone who can ride a bike will be good to go!

Who chooses the tours?

Our company director, Markus Präsenz scouts all the tours personally, utilising his 20 years of experience as a motorbike tour guide.

How many participants make up a group and how many guides are there?

Our groups are limited to a maximum of 10 participants. A tour guide accompanies the group, also by bike. Another team member also accompanies the group, in the Mexxfro service van and is responsible for service and refreshments along the way.

Can I ride without a guide with Mexxfro?

All Mexxfro tours take place with a trained tour guide. We ride on little known tracks, some of which aren’t on the map.

Can I bring my own e-bike?

There’s no need to. We provide you with an M1 “Spitzing”, one of the best e-bikes in the world.

What is the ideal experience and fitness level?

How long and far do we ride each day?

A typical daily leg covers between 50 and 100 kilometres. Depending on the road surface, it takes between 4 and 6 hours.

What happens if the battery dies?

Our service van always has a fully charged spare battery, just in case. And we always ensure all batteries are fully recharged overnight.

What happens to my luggage during the legs?

Your luggage is always safely stowed in our service van. If, for example, you want to change t-shirt during a leg, that’s no problem.

What about the catering en route?

Our catering is as diverse as our tours are. Besides picnics in carefully scouted, gloriously picturesque spots, we also offer snack breaks, as well as dining in cafés and restaurants, and breaks in between. We always adapt to the daily stage. Our 360° service enables all of this.

Who can I turn to if I have any questions regarding the tour?

Simply call us or send us an email. Our service team will contact you as quickly as possible to answer any questions you might have.

Is it possible to book a single room?

Of course! You can choose a single or double room in our enquiry form.

What happens in the case of a breakdown?

Our service team takes care of it. Our service van is there to help with any accidents our tour guide can’t fix himself. We simply contact our service van driver who can bring a replacement bike if necessary.

What clothing do I have to bring?

Be prepared for everything. Although it’s a bike tour, you can travel with normal luggage (thanks to our 360° premium service), we recommend preparing for all kinds of weather conditions. In this case – more is more. Long-legged trousers, shorts and rain gear should be packed, as well as gloves (depending on the tour).

What if it’s rainy or even stormy?

The word “adventure” originates from “exciting, brave, unusual experience”. As suppliers of adventure tours, we don’t let wind or rain stop us. Of course, always under the premise that safety comes first.

Do I receive travel documents?

Knowledge is power. Of course we provide you with detailed information about your adventure trip with Mexxfro. After receiving a deposit or full payment, we will send you all the relevant information along with your travel documents.

How do I book a tour?

Send us a non-binding enquiry with our contact form. We then send you a binding offer with all the necessary information for your trip. Only after accepting the offer does a contract come into effect. From that point on, all you have to do is look forward to your Mexxfro Adventure Tour.

What happens in case of an emergency?

In case an emergency arises, our tour guides have a first aid kit as well as a satellite phone.

Does the price include the flight?

You book your flight to the destination airport yourself. Once there, you will be privy to our 360° Premium Service. That leaves you free to plan your holiday before and after the Mexxfro Adventure Tour. In case you decide to add a week of relaxation to your holiday, your individual flight booking gives you the freedom to do so.

Do I need to apply for a visa for my booked tour?

You can find out if any there are or entry requirements or if a visa is necessary for your holiday destination from your local Department of Foreign Affairs.

Are group bookings possible?

Yes, we gladly welcome them. A full tour consists of 10 people plus our tour guide, so your group can be of up to 10 people.

Do I need a helmet and driver’s licence?

Our motto is: safety first. All participants are obliged to ride with helmets at all times. In case you forget your helmet or don’t own one, we sell helmets too. For hygiene reasons, we cannot rent helmets. A prerequisite for taking part in a Mexxfro Adventure Tour is the possession of a category AM driver’s licence, which allows driving a car.

No problem! Our Service Van, with clean and comfortable toilet facilities, awaits us at every meeting point.
